2006 News Items

2006 in words and pictures

What a busy year this was!  There were many special services and celebrations, and you can read about all of them (well, to be honest, most of them!) by clicking on the picture or the title below. Please do, and give thanks to God for our Church, our community, His presence and His guidance.

Christmas

The busiest time of St. Michael's year was also one of the most exciting, with service and events throughout the month of December, and around 800 people attending the services on Christmas Eve!

Peter George

Our beloved Peter, who has been such a good servant of St. Michael's for many years and a valued member of our local community, died on 5th November.

Rolling Worship

When there's a 5th Sunday in the month, we have a special format of services lasting the whole morning. For instance, see what happened in October

Flower Festival

The end of October was the occasion of our Art Exhibition and Flower Festival. See photos of these impressive floral displays!

Harvest Celebrations

The Church also looked resplendent on Harvest Sunday, 10th October. Over 1,000 items of food were presented and distributed locally.

Mission Croatia

In the summer of 2006, Sarah Dix took part in Mission Croatia. It was a life changing experience for many, and here's her report of the mission.

Ivy & Rupert's Ruby Wedding Anniversary

Sunday 10th September was a great day for us all, and especially for Ivy and Rupert Dix, as they celebrated the milestone of 40 years' marriage.

Annual Pets Service

This also took place on 10th September, and we were delighted to see the great variety of God's creation celebrated - and represented!

Annual Parochial Church Meeting: Reports

Earlier in the year, the APCM received reports of all our activities, and those of our Groups, in 2005. We have all the reports here on the web.

Christmas 2005

No two Christmasses are the same - prove it by reminding yourself of what happened in St. Michael's at Christmas 2005.
