Family outing to Fritton Lake
Monday 18th August
It was a brilliant idea to gather together all
our family groups in the Church, for an outing to Fritton Lake
in Norfolk - including our Church Mice (0-5s and their parents),
stmixkids.com (5s to 11s) and Youth Emmaus (11s-19s). Being a
truly family event, it was an open invitation, and a number of
Church members came along.

The weather
didn't look promising, and there was a fair amount of
cloud and drizzle early on - but that didn't dampen
spirits or stop anyone from enjoying themselves!
Here's a photograph of just a few of us,
working out what do next... would it be the wellie trail,
the pitch and putt course, the ponies or the boating lake? |
|
 |
....The boating lake won. And to prove it,
some of our party lost! A number of boats went out, and
all but one came back under their own oar-power. This one,
however, enjoyed the luxury of a tow back to the jetty. |

The
children had a great time, and spent a lot of time with
the ponies. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to snap them -
but we did photograph Renee, Dorothy and Philip with one
of the local residents (third from left!) though our
cameraman is disappointed that not one of them looked at
the camera.

Sometimes it's difficult to get action shots of children,
but reverend gentlemen move a little slower. Here's our
Curate John Chandler on the Death Slide (believe it or
not, he was moving quite fast at this point) watched by
Diane, who had already tried the slide and lived. |
|
 |
... and finally another action shot, a rare occasion when
June dared push our Priest-in-Charge Ray Gibbs around!
After lunch, the sun came out, most of us took part in all
the activities, and we were all back on the Tony Glew
coach promptly for our return journey.
