"I'm in charge!"

Revd Ray Gibbs was formally licensed and installed as priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Myland at a service in St. Michael's on Monday 3rd March. It was a wonderful evening - just see how happy Ray is!

Good Friday - Early Easter Eggs for Everyone!

Our Good Friday Children's Service and Easter Egg Hunt were as successful as ever this year - even though the weather did its worst!

Easter in the snow

Easter at St. Michael's was quite wonderful this year! After a challenging, moving and exhilarating week, with the joy of Palm Sunday leading to times of vigil at the Cross, our service of celebration on Easter Day was exactly that! And it snowed.....!

Senior Moments - in their Easter Bonnets

"Senior Moments" - our group for those over 60, enjoyed special Easter celebrations this year - much fun was had making Easter bonnets - boaters for the gentlemen - and it was good to see many of them being worn in Church on Easter Day! We have the photographs..

Revd John Chandler ordained Priest

Sunday 22nd June was an important day in John's life - and the life of St. Michael's as he entered the Priesthood and took on a wider range of duties in the Parish of Myland. Read the story and see some photographs of the occasion.

All the Mews - Our Pets Service 2008

Our annual pets Service on 13th July was a barking, mewing, squeaking, squawking success, with 31 pets accompanying over 150 human beings to the service.

Flower Festival 2008

Our Flower Festival, on 25-27 July, was a wonder to see, with over 30 gorgeous displays, lovingly created and beautifully presented. It was a joy to take all the photographs!

Throughout the year, our Saturday Club for children aged 5 to 11 met and learned about Jesus in lots of exciting ways. As the name suggests, it has its own website - and you're only a click away. See the site by clicking here or on the left.

Summer Fair brings out the crowds

We held a Grand Summer Fair on 26th July, in aid of the Myland Parish Halls Modernisation Project, supported by all the organisations which use the Halls, and a large contingent of the local community.  Read more on the Halls website, at www.mylandparishhalls.org.uk.

Weston Homes Community Stadium opens

The newest development in the Parish opened its gates with a showcase match against Athletic Bilbao on 4th August 2008 - and we were proud to be there!

Mothers' Union Coffee Morning

It was august 9th - the day the Church commemorates Mary Sumner, founder of the Mothers' Union - that our Branch celebrated with their annual Coffee Morning.

 

Family Outing to Fritton lake

The sun shone - eventually - on our family outing, and all our Family Groups from St. Michael's had a good time at Fritton Lake. There was lots to do, and between us we did it all.

A plentiful Harvest

The Church was packed with people and harvest gifts on Sunday 12th October, and our inspiring service was followed by "Ploughman's & Puds" in the Hall -we truly celebrated all the goodness God has provided!
