Buildings
Working Party
We are a sub-committee of the PCC, set up to maintain and
develop the Church’s premises – the Church, and Myland
Parish Halls – where we share the same vision: to ensure
our buildings meet the needs of the growing community. Our
plans to modernise Myland Parish Halls are at an advanced
stage; there's
lots more information on the Halls' website:
www.mylandparishhalls.org.uk
.
We
also have a vision for the Church which is well on the way
to being realised - we now have a kitchen area and a toilet in Church,
and look forward to more opportunities to enhance the
Church's facilities, in keeping with its 150-year history.

1st Myland St
Michaels’ Scout Group

Beaver Scouts Christine
Stafford 855443
Cub Scouts Bill
Miller 844313
Scouts John Moulding 851549
Group Scout Leader Bill
Miller 844313
The Scouting movement is one of
Myland's oldest organisations, and is still going strong. We meet
weekly in the Parish Halls, providing traditional development
opportunities for young people of all age-groups.
Yes. Behind the fun of Scouting,
there is an educational programme which was completely redesigned in
2001 following years of work with educationalists and youth
workers. Whilst Groups will undertake different activities from
each other, the main programme areas are: Outdoor and Adventure;
Global; Community; Fit for Life; Creative; and Beliefs and
Attitudes. Section Leaders are trained to deliver this programme.
The aim of the Association is to
promote the development of young people in achieving their full
physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as
individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local,
national and international communities.
The Method of achieving the Aim of
the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme
of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and
guided by adult leadership.
Scouting is open to all young people
aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. There are five Sections:
Beaver Scouts 6 - 8 year olds
Cub Scouts 8 –10 ½ year olds
Scouts 10 ½ - 14 year olds
Explorer Scouts 14 -18 year olds
Network 18 - 25 year olds
If there is a waiting list for the
Section your child hopes to attend you could think about joining us
yourself.
With more adult help our waiting
lists for young people would be shorter and more young people would
be able to experience the adventure of Scouting.
Interested? Contact Bill Miller Group
Scout Leader 844313 after 6pm |
