Key projects CAM is involved with:

 

Coordinated the Mile End Community Needs Assessment 2005 and the Mile End Youth Consultation 2006. These two community research documents inform CAM’s work plan and also provide essential evidence of need for other agencies and groups in their service delivery plans.

Working with Myland Community Association (MCA) to develop their committee membership and capacity to function as an effective and inclusive Association.

Supporting key community groups  to work together to produce a preferred specification for the Severalls community centre and the community space at Tufnell Way.

Supporting MCA to develop their capacity to one day manage the new Community Centre on the Severalls redevelopment.

Coordinating a forum of neighbourhood workers who meet to consider local issues. A successful youth consultation event was carried out by key partners.

Coordinating and delivering a youth provision project.  CAM has recently secured £13,000 funding towards employment of a part time youth project worker.

Supporting a new youth group to meet, fill out funding forms and work together to get new play equipment.  They have been awarded over £10,000 for facilities and activities.

Coordinating a community garden project with artists from Cuckoo Farm.

Supporting St Michael’s Church to apply for £350,000 lottery funding to renovate, extend and modernise their community parish hall.

Working in partnership to secure funding for improved young children’s play area.

Working with Colchester United Sports Trust to ensure community involvement in planning and delivery of community benefits at the Community Stadium.

Supporting local organisations to sign up to Essex Libraries lottery bid for a community library and to build volunteer support to help manage the project if successful.

 

To date CAM has awarded over £30,000 of grants to local projects

and has helped secure over £161,300 of external funding for the area.
