A Community Project sponsored by St.
Michael's Church
Revd Rosie
Tallowin is the Community Pastor for
New
Braiswick Park, and lives with her husband Vic at 11 Tufnell
Way. Here they are!
We
hope that by Rosie living on this new housing development we
will develop an understanding of what it is like to be part
of this community of people of all ages, and to help
improve the quality of life for everyone who lives here, in
the short or long term, owner-occupiers or tenants.
Newsletter
Rosie will be arranging for the next newsletter to be
delivered shortly to
over 660
households in Tufnell Way, Little Woods Mews, Aerofoil
Grove, Axial Drive, Propelair Way, Radial Court, Woods
Court, Joy Clucas House, Turbine Rd, Apprentice Drive, Blade
Rd, Engineers Square, Fan Avenue, Motor Walk, Paprika House,
Vortex Road and Spindle Street. Here is Newsletter no. 9 -
it's available online
here - click the picture to view, or
download a printable copy.
It's in Adobe Reader format - if you can't view it, you

What is a Community Pastor?
Some people Rosie meets are not sure what a ‘Community
Pastor’ is. Rosie is living on New Braiswick Park to help
where she can, and where invited to do so. Her first
newsletter asked what sort of things residents would like to
know about, or what was proving to be a difficult situation
as a new housing development continues to be under
construction.
In response to the suggestions and requests, Rosie has been
able to provide a venue for mums and dads to meet with their
pre-school children, to have a cuppa and a chat; coffee
mornings for
people at home during the day so they can meet other
residents; a pizza/curry evening; Job Centre Plus sessions
for help with CV writing and interview tips; litter pick;
Dad’s Saturday with bacon rolls & newspapers plus breakfast
and activities for their children; activities for children
and their parents/carers during the school holidays........
Although Rosie’s
role as Community Pastor is sponsored by St Michael’s
Church, she organises various groups and activities, and
deals with a multitude of issues which are not necessarily
connected to church. Things that residents bring to her
attention like:- mud on the roads, dog poop on the
pavements, inconsiderate parking, plastic recycling problems
and yellow lines.
Community
Facility – progress
Believe it or
not, there is progress behind the scenes, and we are hoping
it won't be long before we're able to make an announcement.
In the meantime, we're making full use of every inch of
space at 11 Tufnell Way!
Community
Allotment
Would you like to grow your vegetables on the New Braiswick
Park Community Allotment? All the space on the Community
Allotment has been allocated, but if you would like us to
put your name on the waiting list then please let Rosie know by email at
rosie@mylandchurch.org.uk or post a note through the
door at 11 Tufnell Way.
New
Braiswick Park Residents and Community Group
A group to
consider issues that affect residents and to develop a sense
of community on New Braiswick Park.
If you would be interested in joining this
new group then please come along to the meeting at 11
Tufnell Way on either Friday 27th January @ 8pm (til 9pm) OR
Sunday 29th January @ 4pm (til 5pm). This is your
opportunity to find out more, or to have your say about
something. You might want to find out about the Community
Allotment, or have a suggestion for a group or an event,
such as a monthly charity Coffee Morning to raise funds for
a particular charity. Hope to see you on either Friday 27th
Jan at 8pm or Sunday 29 Jan at 4pm. Tea/coffee/biscuits
provided.
Oh dear - you
can't make either of those meetings? Then send me an email,
or drop a note through my door.
