Our
programme of "Rolling Worship"
on 5th Sundays of the month
Rolling
Worship is an exciting concept, a "fresh expression"
of being Church, which we have introduced at St.
Michael's.
The
purpose of including Rolling Worship as part of our regular
pattern of services is two-fold: to offer opportunities to
worship God in a style with which everyone will be familiar and
comfortable; and to provide worship at a time when people are
available.
So we say "come when you can, go when you must", and "pick and
mix"! Here's our full programme for a recent "5th Sunday":
8:45am
Traditional Holy Communion
A
beautiful way to start any day - a quiet service of Holy
Communion, based on the Book of Common Prayer. We are one of the
few Churches to have re-introduced this service, an important
part of the Church's tradition.
9:15am
Coffee
& Croissants
That's
the way to do it - Communion first, then break our fast! A good
way to build up stamina for the rest of the morning, and an
opportunity for a good chat.
9:45am
Creative Space
For
those who appreciate quiet, reflective or creative worship, an
opportunity to enjoy your relationship with God.
10:15am
All-Age
Worship
Similar to our "Family Services", this is an informal and
welcoming time of worship. "Family Service" doesn't mean that
you have to come as a family - when you arrive, you'll find
you're part of the Church family!
10:45am
Family
Communion
The
staple diet of Christians everywhere, of all ages. Our time
around the "family table".
11:15am
Coffee
Time
Tea,
coffee and cold drinks at the back of the Church, to sustain us
through the rest of the morning, or as we head off into the rest
of the day.
11:45am
Songs of Praise
A
variety of hymns ancient and modern, resounding and reflective,
major and minor, together with interviews, commentary and
prayer, to send us out with a song - and the Lord - in our
hearts.
