Rolling Worship

Our programme of "Rolling Worship" on 5th Sundays of the month

 

Rolling Worship is an exciting concept, a "fresh expression" of being Church, which we have introduced at St. Michael's. 

 

The purpose of including Rolling Worship as part of our regular pattern of services is two-fold: to offer opportunities to worship God in a style with which everyone will be familiar and comfortable; and to provide worship at a time when people are available. 

 

So we say "come when you can, go when you must"!

 

For Sunday 29th January 2012, things will be even more different - here's the programme:

 

 

9:15am Traditional Holy Communion

This year, the Church of England celebrates the 350th anniversary of the publication of the Book of Common Prayer. This service follows the original wording from the BCP, including the set readings.

9:45am Creative Worship

Here's an opportunity to worship using more of our senses; our theme today is "light", as this is the week that the Church celebrates Candlemas. more of that later in the morning!

10:15am Family Worship

A wide range of hymns, songs, readings and prayer will help us all enjoy our worship together, in a way which we hope will also be honouring to God.

10:45am Family Holy Communion

This time using words from Common Worship, we gather as Jesus commanded us to share this communion meal.

11:15am Candlemas

In this 5-minute service, we finally say "goodbye" to Christmas, and turn our thoughts forward to the ministry, passion and cross of Jesus. It's an unusual service, and well worth experiencing!

11:30am Coffee

Yes, this is definitely part of Rolling Worship - it's good to chat together, and enjoy being Church!
