What an amazing morning! We did recommend in our advertising that it would be a good idea to arrive early, as the best plants usually fly off the tables in the first hour of the Plant Sale. But we couldn't have anticipated that the first visitors would arrive at 10:30 for the 11am start, and that by opening time the queue would snake part of the way to the Church!

At exactly 11 O'clock, the doors opened and customers swarmed in - and like a Biblical swarm, there was very little left! Within ten minutes, the crush had eased a little, as people began to leave with tray upon tray of bedding plants, and by 11:30am only a quarter of the plants were left! We began to tidy up around noon, and when the last customers left at 12:30pm there was only one table of plants to put away -which would be brought out again for people to buy after Church on Sunday morning.

As well as plants from a local Nursery sold at a discount, friends had also brought home-grown flowers and vegetable plants to sell, and one keen grower provided enough plants to achieve sales of £150!
