Services at St. Michael's

Our main service each week is at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays.

We follow a monthly pattern of services, as follows:

First Sunday

Holy Communion, with prayer and laying on of hands for wholeness and healing

Second Sunday

Family Service

Third Sunday

Holy Communion, with "big issues" sermon

- teaching on a major issue we face in the modern world

Fourth Sunday

Holy Communion, with Baptisms

Fifth Sunday

“Pick & Mix” style Rolling Worship throughout the morning.

The pattern of services may change at festivals such as Easter, Christmas and Mothering Sunday, so please see the Diary for updates.

All our services are designed to be accessible and friendly.

On first Sundays our theme is “Wholeness and Healing”, where a trained, experienced team is available for prayer and laying on of hands.

Family Services tend to follow a theme, are accompanied by our band of musicians, and are always fun! On third Sundays, we take a little time to explore some of the major issues we face in the world today; Baptisms, on the fourth Sunday of the month, are by prior arrangement – contact us for information.

Children of all ages are welcome at every service. We don't have a Sunday School, but we do have a crèche for young children. Those aged 5 to 11 are invited to "stmixkids.com" on the first Saturday of each month.

In Midweek, there is Morning Prayer each Tuesday at 8am, Holy Communion on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m., and Morning Prayer each Thursday at 8am. Please see the diary for the times and dates of other services, especially at festivals.

Also in the Parish, at Colchester General Hospital, we join the Chaplaincy Team for regular services of Holy Communion. The principal services are at 11 a.m. on Sundays, 9:30 a.m. on Mondays and 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
