Christmas 2019
It was a busy but joyful time at St. Michael's as we prepared for and celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ: the real reason for the season!


Harvest 2019
Our harvest displays this year focused on climate change and our responsibility for protecting the beautiful and bountiful earth God created.


Christmas 2018
We enjoyed another wonderful Advent and Christmas here at St. Michael's as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Saviour.


Remembrance 2018
On Sunday 11th November 2018, the Myland community remembered the ending of the First World War 100 years ago with special remembrance services, a lunch, commemorative displays, and participation in the nationwide pealing of church bells and the lighting of a beacon. St. Michael's Church was decorated with many handmade poppies and the Myland Community Council displayed presentations in the parish hall prepared by local schools and groups.


Ordination of Priests 2018
Congratulations to Laura Garnham, Hazel Greenland, Christine Newmarch, Terry Walker and Viv Whitfield who were ordained as priests here at St. Michael's Church by the Right Reverend Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester, on Saturday 29th September 2018.


Flower Festival 2018
St. Michael's Church was filled with colour and inspiration over the August Bank Holiday Weekend as we celebrated the joy of God's Creation with flower displays representing a number of different saints. We share with you here just some of these beautiful displays.


Christmas 2017
Christmas is a busy time at St. Michael's, with fun events and very special services. Here we are decorating the Christmas trees in the church and enjoying time with friends old and new.


Houses of Parliament Tour 2017
In November, members of St. Michael's Church and friends enjoyed a tour of the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament).

Our guide, Will Quince, Member of Parliament for Colchester, entertained us with fascinating facts and anecdotes about the history of the building and the activities of its occupants. Thank you Will.


Flower Festival 2017
'What's on TV?' was the theme for this year's flower festival as once again flower arrangers from church and community filled St. Michael's with colour and creativity over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Here are just some of the beautiful displays.


Knit & Natter
Our Knit & Natter group have been busy making items for local care homes as well as for the maternity unit at Colchester General Hospital. They have also knitted blankets to help raise funds for our church. As you can see, these blankets are enjoyed by our four-legged friends too!


Christmas 2016
Church and community organisations enjoyed a fun morning decorating Christmas trees ready for Advent Sunday the following day.


Flower Festival 2016
St. Michael's Church was filled with colour across the August Bank Holiday weekend as we celebrated the joy of flowers with our annual flower festival. This year's theme was 'A Splash of Colour' and the flower arrangers, as always, excelled in their delightful creations.

If you didn't manage to come along, this album gives you the chance to see many of the displays; and if you did join us over the weekend, then you get the chance to enjoy them again!


Royal Celebrations 2016
We joined the rest of the country in celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday over her official birthday weekend 18 – 19 June.


Christmas 2015
Groups, schools and charities from across the Myland community enjoyed a fun-filled Saturday morning trimming the Christmas trees in the church ready for our special 'Lighting of the Christmas Trees' service the following day (Advent Sunday).

159 shoeboxes filled with gifts for the Operation Christmas Child Appeal start their journey.
