Regular Services

Sunday Services

Our main service each week is at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays.

We follow a monthly pattern of services, as follows:

First Sunday

Holy Communion, with prayer and laying on of hands for wholeness and healing. At this service, we offer the opportunity for people to receive prayer and laying on of hands by a trained and experienced team.

Second Sunday

Family Service.  These tend to follow a theme, are usually accompanied by our band of musicians, and are always fun!

Third Sunday

Holy Communion, with "big issues" sermon. We take a little time to explore some of the major issues we face in the world today.

Fourth Sunday

Holy Communion, with baptisms.  Baptisms are given by prior arrangement only.  Please click here for more information.

Fifth Sunday

“Pick & Mix” style rolling worship throughout the morning, usually starting at 9.15am, where people can join in or leave (quietly!) when they want too.

In addition, on the second Sunday in the month, we have a service of Said Communion in Celtic or Taize style at 4pm.

The pattern of services may change at various times during the year, especially during festivals such as Easter, Christmas and Mothering Sunday, so please keep checking our website and calendar for updates.

All our services are designed to be accessible and friendly.  Refreshments are served after all our Sunday morning services – a good opportunity to catch up with one another!

Children of all ages are welcome at every service. Instead of a Sunday School, we have a group called St. Michael's Meerkats for young children, which takes place on those Sundays which are not family services or baptisms.

Children aged 5 to 11 are also invited to join us at stmixkids on the first Saturday of each month.

Weekday Services

Tuesday: 8.30am Morning Prayer
Wednesday: 9.30am Holy Communion
Thursday: 10am Morning Prayer
Friday: 10am Morning Prayer

Don’t forget, we have a coffee morning at 10.30am on Thursdays and Fridays immediately after our morning services. We also have one on Wednesdays at 10.30am, along with our 'Knit & Natter' group.

Also in the parish, regular services are held at Colchester General Hospital.
