Christmas at St. Michael's

The information below relates to the Christmas services held in 2021.

Please join us for this special season of services and events as we prepare for, welcome and celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus: our Lord and Saviour, the Light of the World.

Saturday 27th November, 10am:
We decorate the Christmas trees in the church: A fun-filled morning as organisations connected with the church and from around Myland gather together for a morning of Christmas creativity. Click here for more information; and click here to see photos taken at previous events.

Sunday 28th November, 10.15am:
Advent Sunday Service: We light the first candle in our Advent Wreath. The other candles are lit one on each Sunday in Advent, with the final candle lit on Christmas Day.

Sunday 28th November, 4pm:
Lighting of the Christmas Trees: We light the Christmas trees as we sing our joy with Christmas carols. Click here for more information.

Saturday 4th December, 10am - 12 noon:
Christmas Coffee and Cake: Festive refreshments, and we draw the winners of our Christmas Grand Draw.

Sunday 12th December, 10.15am:
'Chocolate' Christingle Family Service:
This year we'll have chocolate Christingles to enjoy as we support the work of The Children's Society. Click here for more information about Christingles.

Sunday 19th December, 6.30pm:
Carols by Candlelight: A service of carol singing and readings celebrating the Christmas season as we enjoy the beauty of our Victorian church by candlelight (or glowsticks).

Friday 24th December, Christmas Eve

Children's Nativity, 4pm
Family Carols, 7pm
Midnight Communion, 11.30pm

Saturday 25th December, Christmas Day
Crackers & Communion, 10.15am

Sunday 26th December, St. Stephen's Day (Boxing Day)
St. Stephen's Day Communion, 10.15am

St. Michael's will also be hosting other carol services and concerts during December, including ones for the Myland Mothers' Union.
